Episode 0: The Pilot - 09/23/03

Aside from a love for hoops, it would seem that Lucas (Chad Michael Murray, “Dawson’s Creek,” “A Cinderella Story”) and Nathan (James Lafferty, “A Season on the Brink”) are two young men with little in common, but they are bound by the dark secret that they share the same father (Paul Johannson, “Beverly Hills 90210”). Nathan is the star of the high school basketball team and local town hero while Lucas is the only child of a single working mom (Moira Kelly, “The West Wing”). Now the two boys’ lives collide when a twist of fate puts Lucas on Nathan’s team and the half-brothers compete, not only for control of the court, but also for the heart of Nathan’s beautiful girlfriend Peyton (Hilarie Burton).

Episode 1: The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most - 09/30/03

Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) blows his first Varsity game and decides to quit the team. The wedge between Nathan (James Lafferty) and Peyton (Hilarie Burton) continues to grow after Peyton tires of Nathan's jabs at Lucas. Meanwhile, Keith (Craig Sheffer) forces Karen (Moira Kelly) to deal with her feelings for Dan (Paul Johansson) after she refuses to step foot in the high school gym to support her son.

Episode 2: Are You True? - 10/07/03

Frustrated by Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) growing popularity at school, Nathan (James Lafferty) searches for Lucas weak spot, and finds it in Haley (Bethany Joy Lenz). Meanwhile, Peyton (Hilarie Burton) is furious with Lucas for submitting her drawings to the local newspaper without her knowledge.

Episode 3: Crash Into You - 10/14/03

Haley (Bethany Joy Lenz) convinces Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) to go with the team to an after-party at Nathans (James Lafferty) beach house in the hopes that the guys will become closer. When Lucas sees the wealth that was denied him, he finally confronts his mother (Moira Kelly) about why she let Dan (Paul Johansson) ignore them. Meanwhile, when Nathans mom (guest star, Barbara Alyn Woods) returns home to find a very angry son, she turns to Karen for advice.

Episode 4: Where I End and You Begin - 10/21/03

Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) asks Keith (Craig Sheffer) to play with him in the annual "Father and Son" basketball game, and realizes he got the better father figure after Dan (Paul Johansson) publicly humiliates Nathan (James Lafferty) on the court. Also, Peyton (Hilarie Burton) has a hard time dealing with the anniversary of her mother's death and finds a comforting ally in Whitey (Barry Corbin).

Episode 5: Every Night Is Another Story - 10/28/03

When Whitey (Barry Corbin) throws Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Nathan (James Lafferty) off the bus due to their misconduct on the basketball court, not only does it leave the two brothers stranded 30 miles from home, but they encounter a carload of punks who threaten them with a gun. Injured during the game, Brooke (Sophia Bush) needs Peyton (Hilarie Burton) to drive her home and in, an unlikely turn of events, Peyton asks Haley (Bethany Joy Lenz) for help. Meanwhile, Karen (Moira Kelly) and Keith (Craig Sheffer) attend a business function and tempers flare when Dan (Paul Johansson) and Deb (guest star Barbara Alyn Woods) are seated at their table.

Episode 6: Life In A Glass House - 11/04/03

The night of Dan (Paul Johansson) and Deb's (guest star Barbara Alyn Woods) annual basketball appreciation party stirs up old wounds and new feelings as Karen (Moira Kelly) makes a new friend, Keith (Craig Sheffer) faces off with his younger brother once again and Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) finally makes his move on Peyton (Hilaire Burton). Also, Haley (Bethany Joy Lenz) and Nathan (James Lafferty) grow closer until Brooke (Sophia Bush) spreads a vicious rumor that leaves Haley devastated.

Episode 7: The Search For Something More - 11/11/03

Looking for some fun, Brooke (Sophia Bush) and Peyton (Hilarie Burton) crash a college party, but things turn ugly when one of the guys (Mike Erwin, Everwood) in the dorm drugs Peyton. After Brooke calls Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) for help, the two bond over caring for a sleeping Peyton, prompting Lucas to look at Brooke in a new light. Meanwhile, Haley (Bethany Joy Lenz) gives Nathan (James Lafferty) another chance and the two go on their first date.

Episode 8: With Arms Outstretched - 11/18/03

After fighting with his father (Paul Johansson) and Haley (Bethany Joy Lenz), Nathan (James Lafferty) succumbs to the pressure he is feeling and takes amphetamines to help his game. However, he isn't prepared for the destruction the drugs do to both his body and his family. Meanwhile, Peyton (Hilarie Burton) goes to Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) to rekindle their relationship, but when she arrives at his house, she catches him with Brooke (Sophia Bush).

Episode 9: You Gotta Go There to Come Back - 01/20/04

After Whitey (Barry Corbin) cancels basketball practice, Brooke (Sophia Bush) convinces Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) to let loose and takes him out for a wild night out on the town. Meanwhile, Deb (Barbara Allyn Woods) instructs Dan (Paul Johansson) to take Nathan (James Lafferty) away for a father-son weekend to try and rebuild their relationship, but things don't go exactly as she had hoped.

Meanwhile, Brooke (Sophia Bush) becomes increasingly jealous of Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Peyton's (Hilarie Burton) growing friendship.

Episode 11: Crash Course in Polite Conversation - 02/03/04

After Peyton (Hilarie Burton) receives the devastating news that her father is lost at sea, she and Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) take an overnight trip to Hilton Head to identify a body that has washed ashore. Overcome with emotion, Peyton kisses Lucas. Meanwhile, an unexpected visit from Dan's (Paul Johansson) parents (Gerald McRainey, Tess Harper) leaves the Scott family in turmoil as numerous family secrets are revealed at Dan's birthday dinner.

Episode 12: Hanging By a Moment - 02/10/04

On their way to pick up Karen (Moira Kelly) from the airport, Keith (Craig Sheffer) and Lucas' (Chad Michael Murray) car collides with an oncoming vehicle and an unconscious Lucas is left fighting for his life. Having witnessed the accident, Dan (Paul Johansson) races Lucas to the hospital and must acknowledge that Lucas is his son in order to save his life. Meanwhile, Peyton (Hilarie Burton) decides to tell Brooke (Sophia Bush) about the kiss she and Lucas shared.

Episode 13: I Shall Believe - 02/17/04

While holding a vigil at Lucas' (Chad Michael Murray) bedside as he lies in a coma, Karen (Moira Kelly) meets her son's new girlfriend (Sophia Bush) and learns from Deb (Barbara Alyn Woods) that she is divorcing Dan (Paul Johansson). Most shocking of all, Karen is horrified to discover that Keith (Craig Sheffer) was drinking while driving at the time of the accident. Meanwhile, Nathan (James Lafferty) tries to win Haley (Bethany Joy Lenz) back after she dumps him.

Episode 14: Suddenly Everything Has Changed - 02/24/04

After his near-death experience, Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) decides he made the wrong choice between Brooke (Sophia Bush) and Peyton (Hilarie Burton), so he breaks things off with Brooke and secretly rekindles his romance with Peyton. However, the truth becomes obvious after he is rushed to the emergency room again and the girls come face to face in the hospital. Meanwhile, unable to pay his mortgage after paying Lucas' hospital bill, Keith (Craig Sheffer) puts his garage up for sale.

Meanwhile, Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) meets a beautiful stranger who starts his head spinning. Grammy Award-winner Sheryl Crow appears as herself and performs in Karen's Café.

Meanwhile, after Whitey (Barry Corbin) assigns Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and Nathan (James Lafferty) to the same room, tempers flare and Haley is caught in the middle.

Meanwhile, having missed out on the auction, Brooke (Sophia Bush) ends up with Mouth (guest star Lee Norris) and gives him the night of his life.

Meanwhile, Whitey (Barry Corbin) learns that his medical condition may be more serious than he first expected, and Dan learns a shocking secret from Deb (Barbara Alyn Woods).
